Germany announced €900,000 support to Ukrainian publishing industry

The German Publishers and Booksellers Association will head up the project, working in close cooperation with Frankfurter Buchmesse, the Ukrainian Book Institute, the cultural institution Mystetskyi Arsenal, the online literary and cultural magazine Chytomo, and the Goethe-Institut in Ukraine.

 

Zabuzhko and Sentsov receive the Legion of Honor

French President Emmanuel Macron has awarded writer and publicist Oksana Zabuzhko and filmmaker, writer and soldier Oleg Sentsov with France’s highest honor, the Legion of Honor.

The agency is convinced that BookForum’s identity does not exist in a vacuum, but rather interacts with the world. With the help of visual language, Plai Büro aimed to explain to the world community what Ukraine and its book festivals are like in times of escalating Russian-Ukrainian war.

Due to the full-scale invasion, 1605 cultural infrastructure facilities were damaged or destroyed.
