The Slovene Writers’ Association (SWA) has announced an open call for its residency program for publishing professionals interested in promoting Slovenian literature in foreign markets.

The program will be held in Ljubljana, where organizers will provide accommodation for a maximum of three weeks at the Dane Zajc Writing Studio. Only four participants will be accepted this year, with a particular emphasis on promoting Slovenian literature in the Italian market.

The SWA residency program is primarily aimed at foreign literary intermediaries, including:

literary translators who have completed their training and have published at least two literary translations;
publishers who have published and promoted at least one literary translation;
literary agents who have signed at least one contract with a publishing house for the translation of Slovenian literature and humanities.

Students are not eligible.
