Ukrainian writer Andriy Kokotyukha writes hundredth book

The one-hundredth book by writer-belletrist Andriy Kokotiukha Va Banque in Kharkiv has been published. The writer announced the achievement on his Facebook page.

The detective narrates the adventures of a robber and a secret agent of the detective police against the backdrop of Kharkiv in 1916. It was published by Urbino Publishers.

Whereas the world is being divided and zones of interest are being decided, anticipating the end of common life,  various officials and policemen are striving to exploit by any means, even if it involves not completely legitimate ventures. Whirlpool of events drags in even those who have been out of politics throughout their entire lives. How will the battle of the notorious Kharkiv robber Pavlo Puhach, who goes by Artist, and the most renowned imperial sleuth Arkadyi Koshka end, when known Warsaw thieves and anarchists who support terrorism enter the game? Both need money to fulfill their intentions: in one case the intentions are noble and in another devastating,” the annotation goes.

“Two evenings in a row, the author of the 100th book (look at the photo) was rewatching the inspiring movies Vabank and Vabank-2 for the 100th time. And for the first time in Ukrainian, moreover in full version. In the Soviet run, 10 minutes were cut out of the first movie and 20 minutes of the second. The first movie didn’t lose anything because of it, however, the second was absolutely changed. As it turns out, there is a complete plot line about Nuto’s continuous drinking (Nuto was Mons’s younger brother). However, the USSR was fighting it at this time. Overall, Andriy Kkotiukha’s works comprise historical and gothic detectives as well as adventurous books for kids.

In his post about the 100th book being published, the writer made a point to mention the continued need to enrich Ukrainian libraries and stores. Along with his wife Iryna, Andriy Kokotiukha frequently sends books to the libraries that make requests for them.

I am reminded that books written by me are either bought by the applicants or by their friends for the latter ones. I don’t purchase anything for your money, I am not morally entitled to that. As it has been reported, one of the books by Andiy Kokotiukha entered the top 30 significant books of the Independence period.

Background: Andriy Kokotiukha is a Ukrainian writer-belletrist. He is a recipient of the Smoloskyp Publishing House award. Andryi wrote a plethora of novels which are Sentimental Gangster Return, The Zoo or Children Under 16, and so on. He is the author of magazine features, short stories, and stories for children. According to Sofiya Filonenko (Doctor of Philological Sciences, professor at UKU), Andriy Kokotiukha is the father of Ukrainian gothic detective stories. He is the recipient of numerous Ukrainian accolades. The writer is published by almost every leading publishing house. A vast number of his works were made into movies. However, Kokotiukha has not been translated into English or any other foreign language as of yet.
