UA: За кілька років експедицій команда Ukraїner відзняла тисячі фотографій України з коптера. Наші кадри вже бачили різноманітні екрани: від Укрзалізниці до міських автобусів у Варшаві. З допомогою цих зображень ми прагнемо поділитися красою України з усім світом. Ця фотокнига — про таку Україну, яку можна побачити лише з висоти пташиного польоту. Поля, ліси, узбережжя, засніжені гори, візерунки міських вулиць — усі ці кадри вражають різноманітністю і викликають естетичний трепет. Попри те, що українським небом усе ще літають ворожі снаряди, ми вже зараз прагнемо закохати в нього весь світ. Книга виходить лише англійською і називається Ukraine from above.

ENG: Over several years of expeditions, the Ukraїner team has taken thousands of photographs of Ukraine from a drone. Our footage has made it onto many different screens, from Ukrainian trains to Warsaw city buses. With the help of these images, we aim to share Ukraine’s beauty with the world. This photo book shows Ukraine from a bird’s-eye view. Fields, forests, coasts, snow-capped mountains, and the patterns of city streets – all these shots reflect the country’s amazing diversity and are aesthetically awe-inspiring. Although at the moment of publication, enemy shells are still flying in the Ukrainian sky, we are already working to make the whole world fall in love with our country.

This book is coming out at a critical moment for the world. A moment when Ukraine is becoming an increasingly active player on the world stage with every passing day, with the tough ordeals and painful losses it is sadly going through.

Perhaps this is why the book speaks without words. It speaks from the sky (where, at the time of publication, Russian missiles are still flying, in a bid to stop everything in their path, including the publication of this book). From the perspective of a bird in flight, you can hear nothing but the sound of the wind. And yet, from up there, you can clearly see landscapes, buildings, roads, animals, and people, in a way we rarely get to see from our usual point of view.

Here, an athlete races down the only wooden bobsleigh track in Ukraine during the summer championship, while a herd of cows unhurriedly grazes in the Carpathian meadows, near a lonely shepherds’ hut. And over there, a full palette of colours is formed by the salt lakes near the Kinburn Spit, a unique protected area, while birds fly over the sandy semi-desert in the south of Ukraine.
