A popular tech startup with Ukrainian roots has unveiled a project aimed at showcasing Ukraine and its core principles of freedom to global audiences.

Headway, a widely-used smartphone app known for offering millions worldwide text and audio summaries of best-selling books, revealed on its Facebook page a new collection titled “The Essence of Ukraine.” This collection highlights works by prominent Ukrainian personalities.

Comprising 32 book summaries, the collection totals 480 minutes and is accessible in three languages: Ukrainian, English, and Spanish. It spans various disciplines such as architecture, history, sports, design, feminism, and literature.

A few of the books featured include:

  • “War For Reality. How To Win in a World of Fakes, Truths and Communities” by Dmytro Kuleba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
  • “Seduction By Food With Ukrainian Flavor” by chef Yevhen Klopotenko
  • “Alchato Noble Power. My Life, My Football” by famous Ukrainian football player Andriy Shevchenko
  • “Ukraїner. Ukraine insider 2”

Additionally, the collection contains a curated list of recommended standout fiction works by Ukrainian writers.

Under the annotations in English and Spanish, the project developers urge foreigners to donate to United24 and to support education and science in Ukraine. Over 20 books by Ukrainian authors have been translated into these languages for the first time.

“We believe in the power of educational initiatives. That’s the reason we want more people to open Ukraine for them, as well as its place on the global stage and real sense of freedom,” said Anton Pavlovskyi, Headway founder.

For Ukrainian users, the collection is available in their native language under the title “Independent: Sense of Freedom.”
