Lviv Book Forum 2024, the 31st International Literary Festival, will take place Oct. 3-6 in Lviv, both in person and online. Within this year’s theme “The Power of Collaboration,” the festival will explore postcolonialism in Ukraine and the world, civic activism, national memory, and international conflicts.

Salman Rushdie, 1981 Booker Prize winner; Booker of Bookers winner (United Kingdom)

James Alan Robinson, economist and writer (United Kingdom)

Sofi Oksanen, writer (Finland)

Georgi Gospodinov, 2023 International Booker Prize winner (Bulgaria)

Myroslav Shkandrij, writer (Canada)

Krzysztof Czyżewski, poet (Poland)

Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, philosopher and literary critic (USA)

 

The festival program includes 20 discussions, five public interviews, an opening ceremony, and four partner events. The detailed program will be announced later.

 

Lviv BookForum is the oldest Ukrainian book fair and international literary festival organized by the NGO “Forum Vydavtsiv (“Publishers’ Forum) since 1994. Over the past two years, the festival has attracted tens of thousands of offline visitors in Lviv and 3.5 million viewers worldwide.
