Stanislav Aseyev’s book on a Russian concentration camp in Donetsk to be published in Ethiopia
07.03.2024“The Torture Camp on Paradise Street” by Stanislav Aseyev will be published in the Amharic language in Ethiopia. The writer announced this on his social platform X.
The book has already been translated into 11 other languages. Amharic (አማርኛ), one of the Semitic languages, is the official language of Ethiopia. “The Torture Camp on Paradise Street” is about the two years Aseyev spent as a prisoner in the secret prison “Izolyatsia” [“isolation”] in Donetsk, which was turned into a concentration camp by the Donetsk People’s Republic terrorist organization in 2022. The book was first published in 2020 by the Old Lion Publishing House in Ukrainian and Russian.
“The Torture Camp on Paradise Street” opens up a new continent: the book will be published in Ethiopia in Amharic. This is the 12th language in which the book will be published (it’s strange that we still don’t have a Czech version).
