Ukrainian political scientist and culturologist Taras Voznyak has won the 2023 Jerzy Giedroic award for his efforts to build and nurture Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuania relations, according to an announcement on his Facebook page.

The award was given out as part of the Jerzy Giedroic Poland-Lithuania Cooperation and Dialogue Forum in Poland. The event was founded by Polish and Lithuanian intellectuals in 2012.

“I am the only foreigner to receive this Order. There was even a discussion if this was possible in the first place. However, it happened. I don’t know if I deserve it but I will definitely try to be worthy of such high honors. Glory to Ukraine and Heroes! And also to Lithuania and Poland!” he wrote.

Voznyak, author and chief editor and founder of the independent culture magazine “Ї”, Ukrainian PEN member and general manager of Borys Voznytsky Lviv National Art Gallery starting with 2016, has also announced he had received “Nesk Savo Svesa ir Tikek,” the top prize of Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania as an acknowledgment of merits in the field of culture. The award was presented in the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
