The Kyiv bookstore Readellion has been announced among the winners of the prestigious architectural award by ArchDaily

The Readellion bookstore has been selected as one of the 15 winners of the Building of the Year Award by ArchDaily, a platform about architecture. The list of winners was announced on the publication’s website. The Readellion bookstore secured first place in the “Interior Architecture” category.

“The 44 sq.m space is designed to be easily reorganized based on the constantly changing and expanding content. In the middle of the space, there’s a custom-designed suspended island that can be raised by a pulley to create room for presentations or book club meetings,” – the ArchDaily explained.

The Readellion was established in 2019 as an online bookstore and expanded to an offline location in Kyiv in September 2023. The name of the bookstore is derived from “read” and “rebellion.” Specializing in artbooks, books on design and creative industries, and zines, Readellion offers editions in both Ukrainian and English. Before the physical store opened, Readellion operated exclusively online. The offline store now functions not only as a bookstore but also as a venue for artistic gatherings and designer workshops.
