The Ukrainian government is preparing a draft law that will recognize English as a language of international communication in Ukraine and provide solutions to increase the accessibility of learning this language. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on his Telegram channel.

“Along with Ukraine’s integration into the EU, we are strengthening cooperation with the international community,” Denys Shmyhal wrote, “and at the same time, there is a growing need for people with knowledge of English.”

The Prime Minister also noted that “learning English should become more accessible to Ukrainians.”

According to Shmyhal, after the victory, a large-scale project to restore Ukraine will begin, and the government expects a number of foreign companies and investors to come to Ukraine to develop their businesses and create jobs.

“The English language opens up wide access to knowledge, the labor market, information and cultural products, and higher wages. Ukrainians should also benefit from these advantages, which will help establish Ukraine as a regional leader,” said Denys Shmyhal.

As a reminder, the EU House of Europe program has announced a grant competition for the translation and publication of fiction and non-fiction books.
