Palindrom released a song inspired by Maksym Kryvtsov’s poem
30.05.2025
Lviv-based artist Palindrom (Stepan Burban) has released his fifth studio album “Machine for Broadcasting Dreams,” which includes a song based on a poem by fallen soldier and poet Maksym Kryvtsov.
“Eternal memory to the poet and volunteer Maksym Kryvtsov, whose poem is featured on this album,” said Burban.
The track’s title is “On the Roads.” The album consists of 12 tracks, including song collaborations with Khrystyna Soloviy (“Cold Blood”), Kurgan (“Haha”), and several solo songs: “I’m Growing Dumb,” “I’m Scared,” and “On Kulparkiv.”
The album features six new songs and a revamped version of the track “Sunset,” which was recorded in collaboration with the band Signals Feed the Void.
“This album is an attempt to remind myself that this desire is still important to me and, perhaps as a metaphor, very relevant to our present time. It is about the unconscious within us, about the depth of that knowledge. We don’t realize how many treasures lie down there. It’s both an introduction to oneself, but, at the same time, within this flow of the unconscious, there is a call to consciousness, to awakening, which has been very important to me this year because I have been sleeping a lot — both at night and during the day. Besides physical awakening, there is also a metaphorical and a spiritual one, if you like. I’m not talking about a pretentious ‘awakening of a new me,’ but about clarity — what to do and where to go next,” Burban said.
The album’s title refers to a childhood dream, to a device that would allow dreams to be played back on a screen, Burban explained. This image became a metaphor for the idea behind the release: exploring the unconscious and getting to know the hidden parts of oneself.
The album is now accessible on all streaming services and marks Palindrom’s first full-length release in partnership with the label “Potop.”
