Les Podervyanskyi’s plays have been published in English as “Ten Selected Plays” illustrated art book . The collection features 10 selected plays and a “bonus,” the SMS story “Kryshku vperiod!”

In their comments, readers expressed surprise and wonder at translator Roman Fomov’s success in rendering Podervyanskyi’s original style into English. The publisher has highlighted Podervyanskyi’s Ukrainian fan page, “Interesting Experiments.”

Podervyanskyi is a Ukrainian artist, painter, poet, playwright, performer, and author of satirical plays who began writing his first plays in the late 1970s. He has written over 50 since then. Podervyanskyi is most famous for his absurd, highly satirical, and at times obscene short plays. Podervyanskyi has participated in exhibitions since 1976, and his paintings are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine and many private collections in Ukraine, Germany, the USA, and Sweden. Mock-Shakespeare “Hamlet, or The Phenomenon of Danish Katsapism” and “Hero of Our Time” were included in the top 30 Ukrainian books of the Independence era (published by Folio in 2006 and Kalvaria in 2006).
