An anti-war children’s picture book «Flower of Peace» was published by the Georgian publishing house «Shemetsneba». Lia Shalvashvili, the author of the publishing project, reported Chytomo about it.

«With the beginning of the war, the children went in search of a magical flower that would bring peace. The journey led them to the “Asylum”, an imaginary dream planet. Will the children find the flower of peace there? Read this wonderful book, and you will understand where the magic flower, that our world needs so much, grows today», – the annotation says.

The author of the book is Muhammad al-Akus, it was illustrated by Lia Bukhnikaskvili. The publication is translated into Ukrainian, English and Turkish.

Lia Shalvashvili also notes that half of the proceeds from the sale of copyright to the book will go to the Ukrainian Children’s Aid Fund.

She said: «We hope that the war will end soon. Georgia experienced this in 2008, and we understand your feelings well».

We would like to remind that the Georgian PEN published an appeal of solidarity of Georgian writers with Ukrainians. Also in support of Ukraine, the Tbilisi International Book Festival has stopped cooperating with all Russian publishers.

Polish reporter Witold Szabłowski also promised to donate half of the profits from his new book to help Ukrainian refugees.
