Olena Maksymenko

Olena Maksymenko is a journalist, writer, photographer, and volunteer. Maksymenko graduated from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Faculty of Journalism, and the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, where she studied ancient history and archaeology of Ukraine. Maksymenko has controbuted for Ukrainian publications such as “Ukrainian Week,” “Day,” “Censor,” “LitAktsent,” “Ukrainian Art,” and many more. Maksymenko is the author of the poetry collections “Bremen Routes” and “I Am November to You”; the short story collection “The Unattached”; the young adult story “Dogs That Tame People” (a story about teenagers in a frontline city); and the documentary collection of stories by defenders “Straight Talk: Chronicles of Defense.”
