BBC correspondent dedicates Medal for Journalism to Ukrainian colleagues

Canadian journalist Lyse Doucet has won the Medal for Journalism at the Hay Festival 2022 and dedicated it to Ukrainian Journalists. 

Doucet dedicated the award to «the great journalists from Ukraine & Afghanistan with whom [she] worked this past year».

 

The prize for literature went to children’s writer Jacqueline Wilson and the prize for drama to actor David Sherwood.    

 

Lyse Doucet is a Canadian journalist and BBC Chief International Correspondent and senior presenter. She presents on BBC World Service radio and BBC World News television, and also reports for BBC Radio 4 and BBC News in the United Kingdom.

 

In 2022 she covered the russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. 

 

The Hay Festival of Literature & Arts is an annual 10-day literature festival held at Hay-on-Wye in Wales in May-June.
