A bilingual anthology of poems about the war in Ukraine has been published in London.

The book was published by Literary Waves Publihsing in cooperation with the Polish-British organization PoEzja London.

The anthology includes poetry by Ukrainian writers, some of whose poems are in the Chytomo collection. There are poems by Olha Brahina, Ella Yevtushenko, Lesyk Panasiuk, Kateryna Mikhalitsyna, Ihor Mitrov, Liuba Yakymchuk, Anton Polunin, Halyna Kruk, and Yulia Musakovska. The book also has texts in support of Ukraine by writers from Poland, Israel, Bulgaria, Australia, the US and UK.

«The anthology ‘Ukraine in the Work of International Poets’ is a creative statement about the war made in near real time. Thanks to this publication, British and other foreign readers will know that contemporary Ukrainian poetry isn’t hiding during the war in an escapist ivory tower and is responding sharply and talking about the pain in a country where there has been a war for eight years and has now entered a ‘hot’ phase. The publication of this anthology is an act of solidary with the people of Ukraine and Ukrainian artists», poet and translator Olha Brahina told Chytomo.

The book’s editors, Anna Maria Mickiewicz and Adam Siemieńczyk, started working on the anthology in the first days of the escalation of the war. That is when most of the poems, translations and illustrations in the anthology were made.

«As creators and publishers, we quickly decided to issue an artistic anti-war message. This message was an anthology that includes illustrations and poems by writers from six countries. We received strong, interesting works and with them created an international territory of peace. We became united in these difficult times by our common creative language, we refer to the same common humanitarian values, and we call for Peace!», Anna Maria Mickiewicz told Chytomo.

The anthology can be purchased on Amazon.
