Readellion bookstore is among the 75 finalists for the Building of the Year Award by ArchDaily, a platform about architecture with 13.6 million readers every month. The list of finalists was published on the publication’s website.

ArchDaily reviewed over 4,000 projects and selected 75 buildings in 15 categories. Readellion was chosen in the Interior Architecture category.

According to the organizers, the award recognizes “apex of design, innovation, and sustainable development on a global scale, showcasing an exceptional range of projects.” The architectural bureau Prototype worked on the design of the bookstore.

Readellion (a combination of “read” and “rebellion”) is a local online bookstore with a selection of international and Ukrainian publications, established in 2019. In August 2023, Readellion opened a physical bookstore with the same name.

“For us, functionality, flexibility, and modularity are crucial in space. In this vision, we were perfectly aligned with Prototype, as their approach to work is based on the concept of ‘microrationality.’ We are constantly changing and growing, rearranging goods, planning to create more merch and objects, which means the space for presenting our ideas and products must adapt to these changes,” the founders of the bookstore commented for DFT Magazine.

ArchDaily is the largest online publication dedicated to architecture and design, founded in 2008. It highlights the best global architectural projects. The Building of the Year Award is in its fifteenth year.
