Margaret Atwood is calling everyone for fundraising for Ukraine’s defense and protests

Writer Margaret Atwood supports Ukraine in the fight against the Russian invaders and spreads information about Ukraine and its resistance. She wrote about this on her Twitter.

Margaret Atwood also spread information about foreign protests in support of Ukraine, appeals from the President of Ukraine, calls to ban Russia from the SWIFT banking system, etc.

Besides, Margaret Atwood protested in Toronto in support of Ukraine’s freedom.

It should be mentioned that in 2018, Atwood was among the signatories of a letter demanding the release of Oleg Sentsov who was illegally imprisoned by Russia.

Margaret Atwood is a Canadian writer, feminist, poet, literary critic, and environmental activist. She is best known as the author of the anti-utopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale (1985) about sexual and reproductive violence against women in post-apocalyptic America, which has become a cult favorite for feminism. She is also the winner of the Booker Prize (2019).
