More than 1,000 educational facilities destroyed or damaged by the russians 

The russian invaders have destroyed 161 and damaged 1611 educational institutions since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine, Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet wrote on his Telegram channel.  

«Tonight the army of the russian federation hit school #1 in Avdiyivka, Donetsk oblast, with banned phosphorus munitions, and yesterday a kindergarten in Okhtyrka was hit by rockets», — Shkarlet said.  

The minister thanked all educators who continue to work despite the circumstances.   

«We will definitely rebuild everything, because we have a large network of vocational and technical schools that train highly qualified specialists», — he stressed. 

An interactive map shows the number of educational institutions damaged in each region of Ukraine. 

As of March 20, the russians had damaged more than 500 educational institutions.
