As a result of night shelling of Mykolaiv, Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University and civil buildings across the street were damaged. This was reported by the journalist Iryna Sampan.

“At 2 am we woke up from explosions, heard three explosions and then the air raid sirens went off. In Telegram channel of the Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim, they posted that Mykolaiv is being shelled with S-300 missiles,” she said.

As of now, the information on casualties is being specified.

Yet, it’s been reported that the building of the university was heavily damaged: “Windows are blown up, there are a lot of debris. Civil buildings closeto the university are also damaged”.

Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University is a classical university of the IV accreditation level in Mykolaiv. It ranks 93rd in the academic rating of Ukrainian higher education institutions “Ukraine’s Top-200 2022”.

It shall be reminded that in July due to russian shellings two biggest universities in Mykolaiv were shot – V.О. Sukhomlynskyi National University of Mykolaiv and Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding.
