Canadian poetess of Indian origin, author of the New York Times bestseller Rupi Kaur expressed support for refugees from Ukraine. She wrote about this on her Facebook page. 

 

«Heartbroken at the needless, senseless catastrophe in Ukraine. The devastation that people are facing is astounding. I can’t imagine the sheer horror and perilous journeys those fleeing their homes and lives are undertaking right now», – Kaur wrote.

 

 

She also expressed sympathy for her friends and their families in Ukraine, citing the UN Refugee Agency, which warned that Europe would soon face its biggest refugee crisis.

 

Rupi Kaur is a Canadian poetess of Indian origin, author of the New York Times bestseller Milk and Honey, which has been translated into more than 35 languages, including Ukrainian.

 

It will be recalled that a lot of well-known writers such as Margaret Atwood, Stephen King, Olga Tokarczuk, Frederick Begbeder, Joanne Rowling, Yuval Noah Harari, Bernardine Evaristo, Alison Killing, Neil Gaiman, Witold Szabłowski, Elif Shafak and others also supported Ukraine with their public statements.
