«Monument to Taras Shevchenko in Borodianka… photos from the internet», – she wrote.

Taras Shevchenko was a Ukrainian poet, writer, artist, public and political figure, folklorist and ethnographer. His literary heritage is regarded to be the foundation of modern Ukrainian literature and, to a large extent, the modern Ukrainian language, though it is different from the language of his poems. Shevchenko is also known as a painter and an illustrator.

Borodіanka is an urban-type settlement in Bucha Raion of Kyiv Oblast of Ukraine. It was the administrative center of the former Borodianka Raion.

According to the UNESCO, at least 53 cultural landmarks in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed since the start of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture, as of March 27 more than 100 cultural heritage sites in Ukraine had sustained damage.
