11,000 teachers and nearly 1,000 schools remain in territories not controlled by Ukraine, Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet said during a TV marathon

Nearly 12,700 out of 13,900 schools in Ukraine-controlled territory are working.  

 

«10-11 thousand teachers remain under occupation. Approximately 24,000 teachers have gone abroad»,— Shkarlet said. 

 

The minister added that 40% of students who left Ukraine continue to attend Ukrainian classes, particularly in Poland. 

 

Teachers in occupied territories who are being forced to teach a russian curriculum are refusing to cooperate with the russian occupiers

 

As a result of the destruction of schools and occupation by russian forces, 81,000 Ukrainian schoolchildren have been forced to flee their homes and continue their education in other regions.
