Ukrainian indie publishers will have their own stand in Frankfurt

Ukrainian indie publishers ist publishing, Dovzhenko Centre, Rodovid, Artbooks Publishing, Booksha, MOKSOP and Understructures will have a collective stand at Frankfurt Book Fair. This is what ist publishing, who’s going to be the stand’s curator, told Chytomo.

The stand will be located in Artbook section. Mystetskyi Arsenal and Ukrainian Book Institute will also have their stands at the festival.

“To take part in Frankfurt Book Fair is to make a loud statement about book industry in Ukraine and its niche part — art editions — in particular. The idea of collective stand reflects the solidarity and common representation of messages and contexts that thanks to the universal language of art do not need to be translated, yet must be heard, discussed and addressed,” pointed Kateryna Nosko and Nastia Leonova from ist publishing.

Aside from that, they are moderating the events about Ukrainian book design and artbooks at the 100-meter-long national stand organised by Ukrainian Book Institute.

Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) is the most remarkable international book fair in the world. It is also an important social and cultural event. The festival involves specialists from over 100 countries, hundreds of thousands of visitors and dozens of thousands of journalists and bloggers.

As been reported before, around 4 000 participants from more than 80 countries will take part in the 74th Frankfurt Book Fair.

It shall also be reminded, that the 29th International BookForum is going to be held in Lviv on 6-9 of October and thanks to Hay Festival (UK) the broadcast of the event will be available all over the world.
