Six Ukrainian illustrators longlisted for 2024 World Illustration Awards

Seven works by six Ukrainian illustrators are on the World Illustration Awards 2024 Longlist as announced by the UK Association of Illustrators.

 

According to the organizers, they received more illustrator submissions this year than ever before. The WIA Longlist features 500 projects across 10 categories.

 

 Ukrainian entries on the longlist are:

 

  • Masha Foya’s illustrations for the “Adobe Creative Residency site” in the category Advertising.

 

  • Serhiy Maidukov’s cover for the book “Russian Colonialism 101” (IST Publishing) in the Book Covers category.

  • Serhiy Maidukov’s illustration “The Story of Wartime Kyiv” for Illia Ponomarenko’s book “I Will Show You How It Was: The Story of Wartime Kyiv” (Bloomsbury Publishing) in the Book Covers category.

 

  • Mari Kinovych‘s cover for “Our. Common.” by Tanya Kasian (Laboratory Publishing) in the Book Covers category.

 

  • Olesia Sekeresh’s illustrations for Vasyl Karpiuk’s book “The Curious Carpathian Story” (Discursus Publishing) in the Children’s Publishing category.

 

  • Romana Ruban’s illustration “A Glimpse of the Forgotten Summer” in the Exploration category.

  • Olga Lisovska’s self-published book “Wolf Swarm” in the Publishing category.

 

As previously reported, five Ukrainian illustrators were longlisted for the World Illustration Awards in 2023. Tetiana Yakunova got to the World Illustration Awards 2022 short list.
