The June 2025 issue of the London Ukrainian Review, “Wartime Childhood,” is dedicated to the theme of childhood during the war.

An article by translator Yuliya Musakovska, “Squinting at the sun: Poems on Childhood”, features poems by Artur Dron and Maksym Kryvtsov translated into English.

“The June issue of London Ukrainian Review is dedicated to the theme of childhood during wartime. Here, you can read a poem by Artur Dron from the book “Here We Were,” translated by me, along with reflections on it, as well as poignant texts by Maksym Kryvtsov—and much more valuable content,” Musakovska wrote on Facebook.

The issue was produced by Sasha Dovzhyk and Larissa Babij. The full issue of the magazine is available on the London Ukrainian Review website.

“The glare of war forces carefree children to grow up quickly. Poems by Artur Dron’, currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Maksym ‘Dali’ Kryvtsov, killed in the line of duty in 2024, illuminate the tenderness, resolve, and tragedy at the heart of Ukraine’s fight to protect the future of its children,” Musakovska wrote in her article.
