On May 24, 2026, a Bukva bookstore in the Kvadrat shopping center was destroyed by Russian shelling. According to representatives of Bukva, the shelling ignited a fire that completely destroyed the bookstore’s premises, along with all books and equipment. The store in the Kvadrat shopping center had been operating for over 10 years.

Despite losing that location, the Bukva team will continue working. The bookstore announced that it plans to open a new store in Kyiv as early as next month.

“Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Glory to Ukraine,” said a representative of Bukva.
