Ukrainian comic book became a finalist of the American Benjamin Franklin Award

The comic book PEREMOHA: Victory for Ukraine has been shortlisted for the Benjamin Franklin Award in the Graphic Novel category. This is stated on the official page of the award.

PEREMOHA: Victory for Ukraine is an English translation of the Ukrainian comic book collection “The Way to Victory” published by The Will Production and the production company Art Nation.

The book consists of 9 graphic novels, each created in the author’s own style and genre. Among the authors of the comic are: Oleksandr Koreshkov, Kateryna Kosheleva, Yevhenii Tonchylov, Volodymyr Povoroznyk, Oleh Okuniev, Ihor Kurilin, Maksym Bohdanovskyi, Bohdana Vitkovska, Nazar Ponik, Kyrylo Malov, and Oleksii Bondarenko.

 

As a finalist for the Benjamin Franklin Award, PEREMOHA: Victory for Ukraine will be awarded a special medal at a ceremony on May 5 in California.

 

The Benjamin Franklin Award, established by the Independent Book Publishers Association of the United States (IBPA) in 1985, is considered one of the highest American national honors in independent publishing. Its winners are determined with the help of more than 160 book publishing professionals, including librarians, bookstore owners, reviewers, designers, advertising managers, and editors.
