The Federation of European Publishers (FEP) has invited Ukrainian colleagues to its future meetings as honorary guests. This is stated in a press release on the official website of the FEP.

This decision is due to the federation’s desire to support Ukrainian colleagues in the face of Russian aggression.

«Ukrainian publishers are European publishers, and the FEP wants to show its solidarity with its colleagues in Ukraine», – the press release said.

The president of the federation, Peter Kraus vom Cleff, addressed an invitation to the president of the Ukrainian Association of Publishers and Booksellers, Oleksandr Afonin.

«This attack is a war against Ukraine, a war against Europe. While it may sound ridiculous to see bombs kill brave Ukrainians, European publishers want to support their colleagues by inviting them to be special guests of our common Federation», – said Peter Kraus vom Cleff.

The Federation of European Publishers is an independent, non-profit association that unites associations of publishers in the European Union. FEP represents 29 national publishers’ associations of the European Union and the European Economic Area. FEP is the voice of the vast majority of publishers in Europe.

It will be recalled, that the Federation of European Publishers condemned the all-out attack of Russia on Ukraine, quoting European Parliament Speaker Roberta Metsola: «This attack is a threat not only to Europe, but to the whole world».
