The New York Times art critics have formed a list of the best art publications of 2022, which includes the book Treasures of Ukraine: A Nation’s Cultural Heritage. This is stated on the media website.

Treasures of Ukraine: A Nation’s Cultural Heritage was published in October this year by Thames & Hudson in London. The book tells about Ukrainian cultural heritage – visual, decorative arts, architecture, etc. It was created by a group of Ukrainian art critics and art historians, including Alisa Lozhkina, Oleksandr Solovyov, Diana Klochko, Victoria Burlaka, Myroslava Mudrak and others.

The New York Times writes that this timely new book introduces you to more than 100 buildings and objects of art, from prehistory to the Baroque, to a modern bomb shelter in a country that we finally consider the heart of Europe. With chapters on Orthodox icons and Catholic cathedrals, Soviet avant-garde and folk crafts, this book illustrates a culture whose very diversity is now putting it at risk.

The publisher promised to donate all the proceeds from the sale of the book to PEN Ukraine to support Ukrainian museums and authors.

As Chytomo has found out, the book Treasures of Ukraine: A Nation’s Cultural Heritage will be published in Ukrainian translation by ArtHuss in May-June 2023.

Recall that the Ukrainian photo book was included in the list of favorites in the Netherlands.
