Frankfurt Book Fair can reach 70% of its pre-pandemic size

Frankfurt Book Fair (Frankfurter Buchmesse) aims for 70% of its 2019 size. This was said by the president and CEO of the festival Juergen Boos in his press briefing.  

He mentioned that trade-visitor and exhibitor registration levels allow him to draw such conclusions. 

According to Boos, the North American trade-visitor registration at this point, particularly from the United States, is at “about the same” level as it was in 2019, while major publishers’ stands at Frankfurt Book Fair 2022 will be at roughly the same size as they were before the onset of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

There will be a 100-meter national stand for Ukrainian publishers and institutions at this year’s book fair, as well as an individual stand for several independent publishers from Ukraine.

As was mentioned before, over 4 000 participants from 80 countries will take part at the 74th Frankfurt Book Fair.
