Since February, russians have killed 38 journalists and kidnapped 18 media workers26.09.2022
In seven months of the full-scale war russia has committed 454 crimes against journalists and media in Ukraine. This was reported by the Institute of Mass Information.
As of September 24, russian troops have overall killed 38 journalists in Ukraine. Eight of them were killed in the line of their duty (three Ukrainians and five foreigners). Thirty of them died as combatants or as the result of russian shellings, off-duty.
As the result of russian hostilities and terroristic attacks 14 journalists were wounded.
In the course of seven months of full-scale russian-Ukrainian war russian troops captured and kidnapped 18 media workers. 27 journalists got under fire.
At least 208 TV and radio broadcasters and printed media outlets (national, regional, and local) in several regions have ceased or suspended their work and broadcasting due to the hostilities and occupation. These are media outlets of Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Luhansk, Chenihiv regions.
67 media outlets got threats, were persecuted or harassed by russians, russian army or its supporters. 8 editorial offices were seized or attacked.
Overall, 215 media outlets stopped their operations due to russian war against Ukraine.
Russians also shelled and/or seized 13 TV towers. There are 27 cases of shutting down Ukrainian media and broadcasting russian propaganda instead recorded, mostly on temporarily occupied territories of Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk and Kharkiv regions.
Apart from it, since February 24 till September 24 russians have committed 38 cyber-crimes.

It shall also be reminded, that in 6 months of full-scale russian-Ukrainian war there have been recorded 419 cases of the violation of freedom of speech.
