The Old Lion Publishing House (VSL) will republish “Daddy’s Book” by the writer Volodymyr Vakulenko, who was killed by the russians during the occupation of Kharkiv region. This was reported on the publishing house’s Facebook page.

This is the least we can do to support the Vakulenko family and, above all, Vitalik, who lost his father that loved him more than anything, but father’s poems dedicated to him will remain,” said Maryana Savka, the founder and editor-in-chief of VSL.

She noted that they had wanted to republish the book for a long time, but the publishing house hoped that Vakulenko would be alive and would sign the contract for republishing himself.

All profits from the upcoming publication will be given to the family of the killed writer.

You can support them directly using the following card details:

“Although not every dad writes poems for his kids, everyone can read this book! Because these cheerful, playful poems written by a loving father, Volodymyr Vakulenko-K, for his son, will undoubtedly become favorites among many Ukrainian children,” the abstract says.

The edition was illustrated by Natalka Gayda.

As reported, Vakulenko was killed by the russians. He has a minor son on the autism spectrum.

As is known, Volodymyr Vakulenko buried his diary at his parents’ fully aware that the occupiers will come after him. Right now the Kharkiv literature museum is working on digitization of his records.
