The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw has announced the winners of the 28th International Poster Biennale. Ukrainian illustrator Dasha Podoltseva received a gold medal for her work “Harvest”. This was reported on the Academy’s website.

Dasha Podoltseva received the Biennale’s highest award “for her poster with a timely and shocking message from the present in an idyllic image of the past.”

The silver medal was awarded to Polish artist Wojciech Domagalski for his poster “Cloud from Poland” for “an unsettling, expressive visual statement about freedom that refuses language to provide a space open to universal interpretation.”

The Biennale jury awarded the bronze medal to Isana Wada from Japan for her poster “Pure”, which is “a fresh, contemporary interpretation of the poster that engages the viewer through visual language and message, while subtly raising many geopolitical issues.”

You can find the works of the winners in other categories on the Biennale’s website.

The jury consisted of: Joanna Górska (Poland), Rikke Hansen (Denmark), Lech Majewski (Poland), Melchior Imboden (Switzerland), Patrick Thomas (Germany).

All the winners’ works will be displayed at a major poster festival that will run in Poland until the fall of 2023.

Earlier, the long lists of the World Illustration Awards 2023 were announced.
